In October 2023, we held our biannual reunion in Washington DC. In the picture below, we had just completed laying a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetary in memory of those who served at the 28th Field Artillery Regiment. We welcomed several first time attendees, who said they will attend future reunions because they had such a great time. We are already planning another reunion in 2025. You can see pictures of this reunion here.

About Us
We represent the nearly 10,000 Veterans and their family members who were assigned to the 28th Field Artillery Regiment and specifically the 2nd Battalion, which was stationed at Bleidorn Kaserne, Ansbach Germany from 1968 through 1989. The 2nd Battalion 28th Field Artillery was reflagged as the 3rd Battalion 17th Field Artillery in 1988.
The 2nd Battalion 28th Field Artillery played an essential part in the Cold War and the Defense of NATO in Central Europe. The veterans of the 2nd BN 28th FA stood on the wall and said, “Not on my watch, to get to them you have to go through me”

2023 Reunion Washington DC
Based on the responses from the members, Colorado Springs was our number one choice. The board adopted the recommendation and approved the location.  Late August to mid September is the time of year we are looking at for the 2025 reunion. It is truly a wonderful time of year to experience Colorado. Warm days and cool nights!  Many attractions are nearby including Pike’s Peak, Garden of the Gods and golfing to name a few. Fort Carson is close by and we will be looking into coordinating with a FA unit there. I hope you are as excited as we are. Plan to join us for the wonderful event and beautiful location!
